To prevent surgical complications through patented technology that delivers preconditioning therapy.
Surgical complications are a risk with any surgery from minor to major. Ideally there wouldn’t be any risk when going into surgery but that is just the nature of our bodies response to “foreign” substances, objects and procedures sometimes. The current complication rate sits at about 30% for surgeries overall. Plexaa is a young company set out to create technology that drastically reduces surgical complications with its preconditioning therapy devices.
The company is currently developing its founding product, Bloom43. In line with Plexaa’s ambitious mission, the product looks to revolutionise pre-breast-surgery preparation through supraphysiological preconditioning™. The technology gently nudges our natural healing process along and gives it a heads up for what’s to come by warming the skin and encouraging the body to begin protecting with the release of “heat shock proteins”. These proteins act to increase blood flow, and as a result, improve wound healing.
The company has obtained considerable venture capital backing and has partnered with industry giants such as NHS digital to begin driving its mission into reality. The company is striving to set themselves apart with non-invasive and drug-free solutions, this will likely catch a lot of attention in the space. We’re excited to see how the initial technology product rolls out in the hands of the consumer.
