Our take

PowerUs is an online careers platform designed to address the growing scarcity of technical workers in Germany and beyond. From electricians and construction workers to specialised engineering roles, PowerUs users can sign up for a free account and apply for a wealth of international jobs that aim to increase their wages and empower businesses to find the perfect talent to fill their roles.

Founded by business and computer scientist graduates Konrad Geiger and Julian Lindinger, the company began as a career portal called Electry that they marketed on Facebook, all funded by 50,000 euros between them. As their platform grew, they expanded their team and attracted investment thanks to their aims of improving the social recognition of technical professionals.

With tens of thousands of craftsmen now using their recruitment site, PowerUs has transparency and social mobility at its core, aiming to help workers avoid exploitation in the technical world. Though there are several competitors in the European market, PowerUs has the ability to engage with emerging talent as well as seasoned professionals, which should give it an edge moving forward. Recent and impressive funding will be used to further develop the platform and grow its team.
