Our take

Quitoque operated in France's meal-kit and food delivery market, sitting between the weekly grocery shop and ready meals. The category has grown around convenience, but also reflects a broader interest in cooking at home, eating well and reducing food waste. So, it's a competitive market, with consumers increasingly expecting both flexibility and quality from food delivered to their door.

Customers get to choose from a changing selection of recipes, and Quitoque delivers the ingredients and recipes needed to cook them at home. The ingredients are p-reportioned, with an emphasis on seasonal and French produce, while the recipes are designed to be relatively straightforward and quick to prepare. Alongside the meal kits, Quitoque has gradually broadened its offering, including fruit and vegetable boxes.

With this simple approach, Quitoque has grown into a sizeable player, delivering around 150,000 meals a week, and its acquisition of food-waste startup Bene Bono in 2025 marked an interesting next step. Bene Bono focuses on selling surplus and "ugly" produce that might otherwise go to waste, giving Quitoque a way to extend its sustainability credentials beyond the meal-kit model itself. Now, this combination could allow the business to build a broader food proposition.
