Qwick's mission is to change the way people work by connecting food & beverage professionals who want on-demand work with businesses who need them.
Our take
Qwick’s marketplace platform connects service industry workers with open shifts in their area, offering shift fulfillment for companies and quick payment for workers.
The company's fast growth from launch in 2017 to operating in seven markets was severely impacted when COVID-19 decimated the F&B landscape in the US. During this time, nearly 3 million jobs were lost in the industry. Indeed, it looked as though Qwick would also collapse after being forced into a mass layoff.
However, the company has since ramped up its staffing efforts and has shown its ability to bounce back by breaking into a number of new markets. With restaurants and bars still searching for staff to fill shifts due to the labor shortage, Qwick could be poised to bridge the divide.
