To empower top-level strategic business for finance teams through the informed use of data science and analytics.
Revenue forecasting for businesses is usually done using legacy tools that are little better than back of the napkin calculations. Spreadsheets and other traditional sources of forecasting data are slow, inaccurate and subject to meddling from managers keen to make their numbers look better. Ramp aims to solve that with an AI powered application that can accurately forecast the behaviour of multiple customer groups instantly, allowing companies to run scenarios and draw insights from them in minutes rather than weeks.
Ramp differentiates itself from other startups working in this space by focusing entirely on B2C companies, mainly those operating in the mobile gaming industry. The founding team has deep knowledge in this area in particular, with years of collective experience working for companies such as Silversoft, Magnetic Software and King, as well as marketing consulting with numerous B2C startups. This has inspired a number of major companies in this sector to take up Ramp's offering, including the likes of Niantic, FRVR and Netspeak Games.
The company has secured funding which will be used to develop its product and increase its headcount. Having secured a solid reputation in the mobile gaming industry, Ramp's challenge will be to expand into other B2C industries. If it's able to prove its versatility across multiple B2C applications, it could easily grow into a major business in the forecasting space.
