Reconome's mission is to tackle the digital inclusion gap which currently stands at over 11m people in the UK, without access to technology to learn, communicate and connect.
Our take
In the UK, for every single phone in use, four sit unused. Electronic waste is already the world’s fastest-growing and most toxic waste stream, and only 20% is currently recycled. Reconome has the intention of causing a paradigm shift around electronics.
Reconome are a certified B Corp company that offers convenient collections and expert repair services. They distinguish themselves from competitors by redeploying reliable, affordable devices to schools, SMEs, and consumers. It appeals to those who want to get the most out of their existing electronic devices.
In 2022, the UK's first National Device Bank was launched through a partnership with Reconome and Good Things Foundation with the aim of tackling the digital divide by providing services and internet to those who have no access.
