Our take
Resooma is the reincarnation of rental startup University Cribs, a property startup that was founded to simplify the rental process. Since its rebrand, Resooma has widened its scope, and now no longer caters exclusively to students, but also to the wider property sharing market.
The rental and residential market boasts a wide range of buzzy new startups targeting both landlords and tenants. Among these so-called proptech companies are flatfair, PropertyLoop and Lyvly. Like Resooma, Lyvly is a shared living and rental service that aims to connect prospective tenants with likeminded housemates. More traditional competitors include SpareRoom.com.
Resooma has benefitted from its University Cribs foundations, and its specialism in student lettings has helped it to secure a foothold in a fast-moving market. Unlike many of its competitors, Resooma is not a marketplace or platform where renters can meet. Instead, Resooma combines data, existing tenant reviews and personal preferences in order to find users' ideal living situation.
Resooma has successfully built and maintained a high profile over the last few years, having been featured in Tech Crunch, The Evening Standard and Forbes. Resooma has recently expanded its focus by launching Resooma Bills, a service designed to help renters to manage household costs.

Dan Jefferys
(CEO)Studied Business Management at Cardiff University. Started out as a City Manager at Rough Hill, an event management company. Founded Skooled, a small marketing and events company, in 2010, followed by two more marketing startups, The Bubble Card and Volt. Founded University Cribs in 2016, which then became Resooma in 2019. Is a Pledger at the Founders Pledge and a OneTech mentor.
Jack Jenkins
(CMO)Studied Economics at Cardiff and worked as Business Development Director at Skooled. They were the Managing Director at Bubble Card before joining Core Sales as Operations Director. Joined consultancy firm ACM as Director before co-founding University Cribs. Founded Gravity VR, and continues to work as a Consultant to a number of companies. Is a Pledger at Founders Pledge.
Christian Samuel
(Founder)Founded PAPER Agency, a digital marketing and events company, in Cardiff in 2012. Founded Personalised Co., a fitness product company specialising in protein supplements, in 2018.
