Our take
Retrace Software is a British-born software company that has created a programme that analyses the provenance and traceability of any value in a line of code. The programme allows software engineers to move backwards and forwards in time when analysing a live production system, giving them more understanding of software when debugging.
The USP of Retrace is the fact that it runs in the background, essentially recording a programme the user runs. This allows for flexible and intuitive use whilst performing other tasks. The company’s patent on the product has now been granted in the UK.
The young startup is initially working with Python, and has made positive first steps into the industry with its angel investment from investors Cur8 Capital, so it does seem promising for Retrace as it continues its journey.
