Our take
Rutter offers a universal API for reading and writing data across different commerce platforms. In doing so, it accelerates the development of new commerce and financial services by removing the complexities of dealing with different storefronts, payment processors and accounting systems.
As an example, if a company wanted to serve merchants and SMBS across Shopify, Amazon and BigCommerce, they would have to build integrations for each platform one at a time. Rutter’s API removes the need to do so, saving valuable engineering hours and maintenance costs.
Rutter has raised funds to accelerate its progress in becoming the infrastructure for the world’s commerce applications, investing in scaling out its engineering and go-to-market teams. This sets it up well to pursue further growth, and it will be interesting to see how these expansion efforts come to fruition in the coming years.
