Our take

Scan.com was originally founded in the UK where patients go through a troublesome experience in order to try and access NHS-funded MRI scans. The uncertainty and time delay associated with this can be both worrying and scary for patients. Scan.com is a diagnostic imaging platform that is setting out to solve this problem by providing patients with the option to book private MRI scans.

The startup differentiates itself through providing customers with MRI scans without requiring GP referrals. Their approach is to partner with MRI scanning centres in order to provide potential patients with somewhere nearby that can offer them a faster diagnosis at an affordable price.

The company has already partnered with over 150 MRI scanning centres in the UK, including Lyca Health, Alliance, and BMI Healthcare. Moving forwards, the company is focused on international expansion and they will first be launching in the USA and Germany.
