Our take
Semsee is a InsureTech business helping independent agents serve small business owners. Its software helps streamline the quotes process for small commercial operations, and aims to help agencies spend more time cultivating connections and clients.
Whilst many startups are pivoting to offer direct-to-consumer services, Semsee’s approach focuses on keeping small agencies competitive with these would-be disruptors. It has, accordingly, won some strong industry support from the likes of D. E. Shaw Group and Nephila Holdings, Ltd.
That strategy developed into Semsee being acquired by iBynd in early 2026. The deal brings Semsee's submission management and workflow technology into iBynd's larger commercial insurance platform, which spports the placement process from submission and quoting through binding and policy servicing. It also expands iBynd's engineering capabilities across API connectivity, automation, and AI-driven workflows, while reinforcing Semsee's original mission of helping independent insurance professionals compete through modern technology.
