Company mission

To bring stress resilience and well-being to people from all walks of life

Our take

Unusually for a tech start-up, wellness device company Sensate’s 2022 round of seed funding was undertaken via crowdfunding company Wefunder, allowing customers and retail investors to get access to shares before an IPO, as is usually the case. Whilst further funding in 2023 trod more traditional investment paths, the crowdfunding round, which raised over a million dollars from more than 4000 backers spoke volumes about the demand for the product, and the customer-first strategy of the company as a whole.

This makes sense, the success of Sensate’s product hinges primarily on the customer experience. The patented blend of infrasonic sound and vibrations has been developed and tested by physicians with the aim of relieving stress for the user. The small pebble-like device emits sound - a “purr” - through headphones and vibrates on the chest as a quick and effective way to relieve tension.

With further capital behind it, Sensate will use its institutional seed funding to grow its operations and user base. It also wants to begin expanding out of the USA. though there are many app and tech-based wellness companies on the market, the design and simplicity of Sensate will no doubt draw in more customers as the company grows.
