The ticketing industry has focused more on consolidation than solving customer complaints in recent years, making it ripe for radical innovation. Showpass is focused on helping customers expand their networks and their capacity to sell tickets, merchandise and more, through its cloud-based event management system.
The company works with 275 organisers and partners with more than 150 offline outlets such as Pride Calgary, the Vancouver Christmas Market and Enthusiast Gaming, to create a distribution channel across festivals, venues, universities, sports and trade shows. Through its partnership with Facebook, Showpass is able to offer social media ticket sales without redirecting customers outside the app.
Showpass is focusing on hiring talent at its Calgary HQ to scale up operations within Canada, and its next challenge will be to use additional funding and talent to start scaling its global distribution channels.
