Being able to take responsibility for your own work and put forward your own thoughts and ideas on how things should be done really makes you feel like a valued member of the team, regardless of how long you've worked here.

Being able to work where/when I want gives me the freedom to spend time with my family, stay physically and mentally fitter and take breaks as and when I need them. I'm not tied to a desk for 7 hours a day and can take time to step away from things if I need to.

Silktide's mission is to make the web a better and more accessible place for everyone. Living in a digitally powered world, everyone should be able to easily access anything they need to online, whether that's information, medication, healthcare or anything else. Being part of a team with that goal at the core of every decision is incredibly inspiring.

Silktide aims to make the web better for everyone. That's a nice mission statement, but does it mean anything? Well, yes, it does. A lot of our clients work in Government, and as you can probably appreciate, their websites serve hundreds of thousands, even millions, of people, each week. We have tangible proof in the form of over two years' worth of data that literally millions of people have been impacted by the improvements in web accessibility in every UK local government website. The work I do helps let large organizations know how Silktide can help them improve, and therefore, has a direct impact on the lives of millions. So that's pretty cool.

The whole team at Silktide is super smart and motivated. I've genuinely learned so much from my colleagues, and hopefully, I've been able to return the favour to others.

I am in the leadership team so I am of course biased, but I feel that everyone at Silktide is given the opportunity for open discussions about everything. All views are welcome, and any feedback is accepted. Our CEO, Oliver, has an ambitious long-term vision of where we are headed, and I'm glad to be a part of it.

There's never a dull moment at Silktide. We're growing fast (100-200% a year). Most of what we're working on now is "how do we grow this to 100x our current size", which is both inspiring and challenging.

People here are fast moving, smart, and get stuff done, so there's plenty of opportunity to learn from them. Countless examples of web designers who have become programmers, programmers who have become product leaders and more. Extensive onboarding, online courses, and focused "Silktime" for learning and side-projects.

We're literally making the whole world wide web better for everyone, so that's pretty awesome. Our focus on accessibility means that we're helping to give internet access to people who otherwise might not have the chance.

I have a young daughter and need flexibility to pick her up from childcare & take her to appointments etc. It's never been an issue for Silktide, we work 100% remote and we work flexible hours so I can easily fit in my work around my parenting responsibilities.

Our Senior Leadership team are great! They are hands-on, visible and always available to help or offer advice if needed. I have worked for companies in the past where the CEO would rarely be seen in the office and no one would really know what they do! It's not like that at Silktide at all.

I actually joined Silktide because of the mission to make the web a better and more accessible place for everyone. Accessibility is important to me, I have friends and family members with disabilities and I'm dyslexic. So I value the work that we do and I know how much of a difference we can make.

Silktide are a supportive company who allow you to pursue new avenues in your career. My responsibilities have shifted from working on the company's websites to working on their flagship product. The management are always open minded and are willing to provide you with the means to skill up in your field.

I'm grateful that I am able to work both remotely and in the well provisioned office that Silktide provide. The flexible working hours are perfect for anyone with a busy home or family life. I often work the same hours, but on many occasions have needed to take a longer lunch break or finish earlier, this has been extremely helpful.

Silktide is a font of open minded intellectuals. I feel like I am growing daily on both a professional and personal level. Because of the collective knowledge of my colleagues, I always feel confident that we can work through tricky or challenging problems as a team.

Everyone's friendly and good at what they do. Willing to support each other. Made friendships that last beyond work hours. The people are the best aspect.

With some accordance to the core hours, your time is totally flexible and lunch hours can be moved around at will, as long as work is delivered on time.

Particularly with what I do creating video content, I'm given a lot of freedom to exercise creativity. Management places trust in me to use my time wisely and deliver what's needed.

Helping to grow the organisation and have a key voice in the development of the product is something I haven't experienced in previous roles.

Slack journals, work-related and fun-related Slack channels, we have regular background Zooms to just chat as if we were in the office. You can read about and speak about what everyone is doing and honesty helps us improve the product and customer experience.

As a remote first company, working from home is perfect for me as I live 150 miles from the office and have a puppy at home! I manage my own diary and my own workload and if I need to pop out to run an errand, I just get the work done later. If you're more productive first thing and last thing, work then!

We have a Happiness Manager who helps ensure all employees have what they need and are happy at work. We also have dedicated mental health first aider and provide paid for therapy if and when required.

Silktide don't want you missing your children's first day at school or that all important Christmas play. We realise kids get ill and you may need to take a day off to look after them. We are fully remote as well which enables you to spend more time with your family instead of commuting. :)

Employees have the responsibility to get the work they need to do done, we do not micro manage in any way shape or form. If you think something could be done better, you have the ability to say so and change the way in which we do things.
