To inspire the world’s aging population.
The American population is ageing, and our parents and grandparents are healthier and more independent than ever before. But with that independence, what happens in an emergency situation? That’s the problem Silvertree aims to solve.
Its solution is wearable tech for active older adults with simple controls, fall detection capabilities and connection to both family and emergency services. Its additional functions (like a step counter, or the ability for loved ones to send ‘virtual hugs’) are a nice touch, but the core product is essentially a smartwatch which keeps an eye on older relatives.
It stands out in the market. There are a couple of other wearable tech options out there aimed at older adults, but Silvertree’s offering has the simplicity of single-button controls that feels like this has been explicitly designed with them in mind. They’re focussing recent funding on finessing the product for launch.
