Simbase's mission is to help small startups and the world’s biggest companies create new connected business models and scale their efforts globally.
The internet of things (IoT) market has been showing remarkable growth that’s expected to continue over the coming decade. This is largely thanks to existing sectors like manufacturing and transport, as well as tech startups, advancing the number, complexity, and penetration of IoT use cases. All of this is underpinned by IoT connectivity, which is Simbase’s stock and trade.
The company offers solutions like IoT and M2M SIM cards, allowing users internet connectivity across the globe. Like most IoT SIM providers, the cards work with multiple operators to achieve global coverage. Unlike some competitors, however, Simbase operates on a pay-what-you-use basis.
This should make Simbase’s proposition especially attractive to startups and businesses whose operations are less predictable - and in the growing, experimental IoT market, that’s a good demographic to net. Whilst this model isn’t unheard of (Things Mobile, for example, offer a similar plan), it’s by no means industry standard. So Simbase is carving out a good niche in what’s expected to become a major future industry.
