To make energy efficient homes simple and affordable for everyone.
Snugg was co-founded and is led by a group of seasoned energy, infrastructure, and growth strategy professionals with the aim of making it easier for owners to make their homes more energy efficient. The platform helps homeowners explore, finance, implement, and monitor crucial energy efficiency changes that, reports suggest, are sorely needed in the vast majority of UK homes.
The appetite is there, as we saw with the UK's launch of the (initially) popular Green Homes Grant. We also saw, as the programme tanked, that navigating the process can prove administratively overcomplicated - even when financing exists. If Snugg can manage to connect the dots of increasing grant availability and homeowners keen on improving their property's green credentials, it could prove an impactful platform.
Snugg is currently in development as part of the 2022 cohort for the Lloyds Banking Group Launch Innovation Programme. This kind of institutional backing is likely to prove a real coup, too, given the platform’s dependence on investor confidence to get it off the ground.
