Our take

Socialive’s software allows businesses (from startups to the Fortune 100) to capture, create and share pre-recorded or live video on their internal channels, social feeds, websites and apps. The company grew out of founder David Moricca’s live music streaming Platform Mixify as he moved into video to allow customers like Salesforce, Pfizer and Walmart to create video content, partnering with the likes of Facebook and LinkedIn in the process.

The shift towards digital content and virtual events during the pandemic saw the company, which is self-funded, double its business and drive up profits. However one of its most significant moves is its partner integration with Qumu, a cloud based video-tech provider. This has allowed each to scale up its efforts by providing multi-speaker, multi -streaming, studio-quality productions which can be easily stored and distributed.

While the company is gaining the attention of big-name firms, an acquisition could be on the cards for the future, but much of this may depend on the scope for virtual events in the post pandemic world.
