Anyone who has had a bike stolen in the past will know that it's a gut-wrenching experience. It’s no secret that bike theft is a major issue, particularly in London, and one that the authorities are struggling to grapple with. The ramifications go well beyond simple property loss, as well. Lack of secure storage is a big hinderance for green transport, leading to increased pollution and busier roads.
Spokesafe is looking to fix this. Founded in 2019, its platform allows cyclists to find and access secure bike parking in major cities. Cyclists use an app to find, pay for, and access a network of secure spaces, allowing them to leave their bikes in safety and enjoy peace of mind.
Spokesafe's market is looking really promising. Record numbers of urban cyclists have been recorded in recent years, and this is a trend which is growing across the world. Following key funding, Spokesafe is focusing on the expansion of its platform and growth in new cities.

The management team are very flexible with working hours. As long as the work is completed at a high standard and within good time. And you are available when required you can work when you like. Which is something that I personally love.

I personally have to visit the hospital a lot. The management team allowed me to visit the hospital at any time. Which also supports how much I love the flexibility and the management teams focus on employee wellbeing. Even times when there is a deadline and I have been working late I am told that I should take some time off.

Working at Spokesafe has given me the chance to constantly develop new skills & test out new ideas. Problem solving within an ambitious business which blends both hardware and software often provides a unique challenge, but is one that is immensely satisfying with instant feedback loop. The problems that Spokesafe are solving requires input from everyone in the business - with even greater diversity of thought required as the business continues to grow. As such, all meetings are transparent (meaning any staff member can join, even if outside their department) and everyone can contribute. Salary is transparent and every staff member is aware what is needed for the business to reach the next level. Salary negotiations are consistent and expectations are clearly laid out, so that reaching the next pay grade is achieved by ability. I have already received a raise which was initiated the business, rather than me repeatedly asking for one,

Spokesafe is a flexible company with a very open mind in terms of tech stack. I had grown alot inside the company and the challenge of really smart colleagues pushed me forward. I started in the company with the dashboard being in vanillajs, I had the task to overhaul it completely to nextjs which solidified my experience and knowledge with the framework.
