Affordable healthcare continues to be a major problem in the US; roughly 30 million people go without comprehensive healthcare and have high medical costs, causing many to go into debt. Spot is tackling this with a digital, on-demand injury insurance product that can be used as-is, or as a complement to traditional health insurance.

It provides customized injury insurance policies directly to consumers, or through strategic partnerships with companies and organizations. It has over a dozen partners in the extreme sports industry, including USA Cycling, Powder Mountain, USA BMX, National Ski Patrol, and athleteReg, and covers tens of thousands of people. Spot grew 800% in policies and 300% in partnerships from 2021-2022.

The company's direct-to-consumer policies are already available in 42 states, and its business-to-employee coverage is nationwide. Its recent funding is being used to hire across all areas of the company, go after new partnerships, and develop a go-to-market strategy. The company has enjoyed several rounds of investment which is boosting its product expansion.
