Superjoi's mission is to get every Creator in the world funded by their superfans.
The pandemic took a heavy toll on the independent artist economy, with restrictions shutting off key sources of income and engagement that many were left struggling to replace. But in its wake, new models and existing, previously marginal platforms are beginning to see wider adoption. Patreon, for example, saw a steep increase in artists signing up to receive direct funding from fans and followers. Superjoi is a freshly minted company looking to play a similar role in reshaping the creator economy.
Founded in late 2021, it is a funding platform through which fans can sponsor their favorite creators’ output across social media platforms. These superfans then receive a portion of the revenue. Scant information is available currently about the fledgling company, and whilst no official launch date is on the cards, artists are being encouraged to join the waitlist. Superjoi will certainly face challenges asserting itself in the market alongside other creator funding platforms such as patreon and GoFundMe.
