Company mission

Sustained are on a mission to help people make more sustainable purchase choices by augmenting the information they need to make those decisions - empowering consumers to make choices that trade-off against price, availability, quality, and sustainable value - at the time of purchase.

Our take

Despite environmentally friendly products surging in popularity, consumers still find it difficult to buy sustainably. This is largely down to convenience, lack of awareness and availability of these products. Indeed, a recent survey showed 65% wanted to buy from purpose driven, sustainable brands, and yet only 26% actually did so.

Sustained is setting out to change this by using data and science to build out systems and tools for use by consumers and others. Their initial product is a digital shopping assistant which helps consumers choose more environmentally friendly foods whilst they do their online food shop. It is currently available for Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Ocado.

Backed by an experienced team of ex-Skype, ex-MSFT, and ex-Twilio employees, Sustained are an early stage start up set within a growing market. They have great potential to build a significant business that impacts lots of people and their ability to make a sustainable difference.
