To make teamwork the best part of work.
16% employee growth in 12 months
Remote and hybrid work have been the norm in many industries for several years now. Although there has been a boom in collaborative tools to make this work, screen sharing and video conferencing are the main ways that workplaces try to communicate between siloed apps such as Figma or Jira. Switchboard exists to improve this situation by creating a truly shared workspace where any web-based app can be run in virtual conference rooms, allowing users to bring their projects to a shared space.
While competitors in this space focus on text-based chatrooms, videoconferencing or collaboration in a narrow field, Switchboard is the first platform to combine all of these in a user-friendly way. By taking the focus off talking and putting it on the collaborative tools being used, it claims to replicate as closely as possible the atmosphere and spontaneity of in-person working.
Switchboard has recently completed a Series A funding round led by Icon Ventures with participation from Sequoia. It is planning to use the funds to develop its product and to expand its team with engineering and marketing talent. If it has discovered a solution for Zoom fatigue it stands a strong chance of building a significant customer base in the near future.
