Our take
Team17 has developed and published some of the most popular and recognisable video and mobile games, such as Overcooked!, The Escapists, and Moving Out. Its portfolio of 110+ games have won awards from several prestigious organisations, such as BAFTA, TIGA, and Game Critics.
Though the company overcame several struggles in early 2022, from cancelling its NFT project to staffers bringing to light reports of poor pay and harassment claims, Team17 CEO Michael Pattison initiated a company-wide review, investigating how to better support its employees and review its business practices.
The company exceeded market expectations in 2022, increasing sales and net profits and making several acquisitions, adding Astragon Software and The Label to its umbrella of companies, significantly expanding its appeal to a vast section of gamers.
Since its games are available for download on a wide range of platforms - including Steam, Xbox LIVE, Sony PlayStation Network, Apple’s App Store, Facebook, and more – Team17 is well set to remain on its accelerated growth path.
