Our take

The Muse is an employment platform aimed at next-gen jobhunters, and provides detailed company profiles including behind-the-scenes videos and employee interviews.

The Muse certainly knows its audience. With younger generations putting more emphasis on socially conscious corporate values than previous workforces, having access to a detailed snapshot of company life and policy is sure to prove enticing. This granular detail distinguishes it from well-known competitors like Glassdoor and LinkedIn.

The company's strategy looks set to secure its long-term growth, too - as it is targetting a generation more likely to job-hop (and therefore surf listings) than ever before. This has likely contributed to the company securing a roster of high-end subscription clients like Foursquare, NPR, and Facebook. The company added Fairygodboss (the largest career community for women) to its list of acquisitions. The Muse, therefore, looks set to reap the rewards from its careful targeting and strategic business model as it achieves continued growth.
