Upstart Power's mission is to design and produce market-disruptive, solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) generators that are dependable, carbon efficient, and virtually silent.
Our take
Internal combustion engines are becoming increasingly outdated, inefficient and unsustainable. Upstart Power looks to solve this problem by developing solid oxide fuel cells, one of the most promising alternatives to traditional engines.
Upstart Power's fuel cells and generators are largely designed for residential and industrial applications. Compared to traditional generators, Upstart Power's solutions are quieter, more carbon efficient, cost effective and dependable. Having successfully released its first cell, Upstart Power are working hard to release a second version, which will be sold commercially.
Demand for more efficient generators is increasing rapidly, and Upstart Power is well positioned to take advantage of this trend. The company has expanded its technology team considerably, which will further accelerate research and development.
