Our take
Previously known as Paperclip, Vinyl Metric's, all-in-one finance and accounting software automatically categorizes all a company’s financial and accounting transactions in one place. This allows them, in theory, to operate and scale without a dedicated accounting back office.
Vinyl Metric’s solution answers a dilemma that almost all startups face – the need to keep their finances transparent and in good order, while also keeping staffing expenses in check as they focus on building their product and making sales.
Despite only launching in 2021, the company has made encouraging progress by winning customers such as Fable and Cloudthread, and has been backed by Tiger Global, Box Group, and Amity Ventures.
The track record of co-founding team Daniel Chan, Kent Mori, Kevin Chan, and Munish Chopra may well explain the early-stage VC confidence in the company. Two of the team co-founded celebrated ethical manufacturing startup Maderight, while Daniel Chan was CEO of fast growth Asia-based collaboration software company JANDI.
