Our take

Founded in Lombardy, Italy in 2016, WeSchool has developed an educational software-as-a-service for teachers. The platform was born out of Oilproject, the largest free online school in Italy. WeSchool’s software helps with access to a digital classroom platform so teachers can bring their lessons online, turning an educational exercise into a sort of mini game that can be played on any device.

The company took inspiration from social networking sites, like Facebook and the simplicity of messaging apps. It is therefore designed to work with a number of third-party content and services, making it an open and collaborative platform, key markers of a good education. Trusted clients include AWS, Google for Education, and J.P Morgan.

WeSchool is attempting to make learning future proof and has received funding to do so. Investment, led by P1010, has been invested into expanding the company’s operations and its business reach. If the success of founder, Marco De Rossi’s previous venture, Oilproject, is to go by, WeSchool’s growth seems inevitable.
