Our take
WealthOS is aiming to become the digital enabler for the wealth management industry. Rather than forcing emerging startups to build their own infrastructure from scratch and integrate with ageing tech systems from custody service providers, WealthOS offers an API-first platform where they can build their own products, in reducing runway times and ownership costs.
CEO Anton Padmasiri has likened the potential impact WealthOS can have on the industry to that of Google Maps, which essentially acted as an enabler platform for the success of companies which integrate with it like Uber.
It’s still very early days for the company, with many of its features still in development. That being said, the industry knowledge of Co-founders Anton Padmasiri, Chamat Arambewela, and Shamindra Perera is encouraging. The trio have more than a half century of combined experience in the sector with the likes of Smart Pension, Russell Investments, The London Stock Exchange Group, and London Clearing House.
