To shape the future of Web 3.0 through storytelling, experiences, and community.
Yuga Labs is the creator of the Bored Ape Yacht Club, a collection of 10,000 simian cartoonised bored ape NFTs, which is inarguably the most widely recognized set of NFTs to date. On top of this, the company created the accompanying Bored Ape Kennel Club and Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFT collections. They also own Otherside (a gamified, interoperable metaverse), and IPS from both CryptoPunks and Meebits.
Despite many people remaining hesitant or downright resistant to the idea of NFTs, Yuga Labs has found a great deal of success by catering to NFT-curious audiences and catching the eye of numerous celebrities - with ownership of a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT being somewhat of a status symbol in certain communities.
The company appears keen to broaden its Web 3.0 presence beyond NFTs and into the gaming space, with a lot of current attention being filtered to Otherside's game-hosting abilities. To that end, Yuga Labs recently ran a 90-minute exploration of Otherside environments for Otherdeed holders. Four teams competed against one another at the event, which made history as the largest crowd of players in a virtual world. The appointment of former President & COO of Activation Blizzard - known for Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and more - Daniel Alegre as the company's CEO is sure to help in its gaming endeavors.
