In recent years, as freelancers look for more flexibility and businesses have seen the benefits of an agile workforce, there has been a drive to improve the way freelancing works. YunoJuno was established to facilitate successful collaboration between companies and talented freelancers in the creative and technology sectors.
The company differentiates itself through its end-to-end service which supports the entire engagement lifecycle, from project management to invoicing. Moreover, YunoJuno performs a detailed verification of all the freelancers, which allows clients to book talent with confidence.
The company is currently used by over 7,000 companies, counting Google, Deliveroo, and BBC among its clients. Having appointed Runar Reistrup (former CEO of Depop) as CEO, YunoJuno's main priority moving forward is to consolidate its place in new international markets, with 150 countries under its belt as of 2023.

Our detailed PR culture is great to actually revisit and understand what you've done. Other developers often praise what you've done in the PR comments. We're also encouraged to post about our work on slack, and every time we do, colleagues on different teams will receive it with excitement.

The team I have worked with over the years, have always been friendly, and very generous with their time (especially when I first started as a junior dev). We go out for lunch together, play board-games together, and these things contribute to making YJ a happy and positive place to work.

With all projects, every person who is involved at any level, becomes involved with decisions about the project. Moreover, this is encouraged, and it makes you feel invested in the work that you're completing. There are also lots of structural things in place to make sure all voices are heard - weekly one-to-one catch-ups with line managers, monthly retrospectives where we can voice all the positive and negative things about the last month, and then discuss them as a team.

Working with an experienced team is a massive opportunity for learning in and of itself. Every piece of work that gets reviewed, and every conversation is an opportunity for learning. But on-top of this, we have regular lunch-and-learns to spread knowledge amongst the team, and an annual budget for courses/professional development.

Senior management encourage team members to contribute to determining quarterly targets and team members are encouraged to suggest ideas in how we can achieve these. Regular check ins are provided for senior management to provide support, but in between those, I am left to organising my own work and liaising with stakeholders directly. Management actively encourage you to contribute ideas in both internal and external meetings, and recognition is always given where these ideas are successful.

Despite everyone having defined teams, you can seek support from anyone in the office. Conversation about your goals at work is always actively encouraged because you never know who might be able to provide insight or support. Socials are frequent, and attendance is encouraged!
