Company mission

To take the stress out of city living for our customers while equipping our local business partners to compete in a digital world. First stop building the worlds best laundry service.

Our take

People can be put off from taking laundry to their dry cleaners. There's the risk clothing could be damaged, lost, or simply not cleaned properly. On top of that it’s often inconvenient, with business hours proving restrictive. ihateironing aims to solve these problems, offering a pickup and delivery service where clothes are laundered by vetted professionals and returned quickly.

Founded in 2014, ihateironing was the first dry cleaning and laundry service of its type in London. It has since grown into a significant business, cleaning a quarter of a million garments a month. Although it is no longer alone in this market (facing competition from the likes of Johnson Cleaners and LaundryRepublic), it sets itself apart with its focus on quality rather than scale. By vetting its network of cleaners and eschewing outsourcing, ihateironing has a remarkably low rate of damaged clothing and almost uniformly high Trustpilot reviews.

ihateironing is focused on sustainable growth, aiming to expand its operations across the UK as well as build on its presence in New York. Going forward its focus on the customer experience and supporting local business should help it cement its position as the UK’s leading laundry and drycleaning service and help it establish a solid foothold in the US.
