To scale up regenerative agriculture to make agriculture part of the climate solution.
Klim is trying to champion regenerative agriculture at scale by offering consultation services and investment networks to farmers, as well as providing a platform which allows them to earn carbon removal credits and get paid for their environmental and climate protection efforts.
The last few years has seen a number of startups moving into the green agritech space; Denmark’s Agreena and the US’ Regrow are already making a name for themselves. Klim has made a strong start to life itself since launching in late 2020, signing up thousands of farmers and securing major seed funding from Green Generation Fund, a Berlin-based food and green tech investor.
It’ll be interesting to see where Klim focuses its expansion and how it chooses to broaden its product offering in the future, but the company has publicly stated its intention to one day offer incentive loans to farmers to accelerate the uptake of green farming methods.
