Our take
There are an estimated 32 million people living with Alzheimer's globally, a number that rises to 100 million if people suspected to be in the early phases of the disease are included. While early detection greatly increases the treatment options and outcomes, until now it has been a difficult condition to detect before its late stages.
Neotiv is a German MedTech start-up which produces the neotivCare app, a digital therapeutic device which is rated as a CE class I medical device. It is capable of early detection of Alzheimer's, catching it when it presents as memory lapses and mild cognitive decline, and allowing for the application of early treatment.
After extensive use in care projects across Germany, neotiv has secured significant investment funding from MedTech-focused venture capital funds. This is being used to grow the company and develop the product with new features to aid in early detection of cognitive decline. Alongside this, the company also hopes to expand internationally, bringing vital tools to the global fight against Alzheimer's.
