As students have increasingly turned to online courses, upGrad is one of the growing number of edtech startups leading the online education revolution. Founded in 2015, upGrad now offers over 100 courses in data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, blockchain, finance, programming and law, in collaboration with universities such as Michigan State University and Swiss School of Business Management, Geneva.
The company is South Asia's largest online higher education company. Having built a proven and trusted edtech brand there, the company has expanded to North America, Europe, Middle East and the Asia Pacific.
upGrad has become the 21st Indian startup to become a unicorn. Its recent funding will be used to explore merger & acquisition opportunities, as well as help the company compete with players such as Byju’s, SoftBank backed Unacademy, Vedantu, Simplilearn and Amazon Academy.
