This role is perfect for someone who wants to make an immediate impact on our business while having an opportunity for growth in various ways throughout the organization
Experience leading technical problems across the stack with a strong ownership mentality, focused on delivering value (we don’t have a hard requirement, but generally this comes with at least 4-6 years of professional software development experience)
Familiarity with data structures, relational databases, cloud infrastructure
Expertise in at least one major application framework (Django experience desired)
Excellent communication and listening skills, the ability to persuade and influence others
Strong computer science fundamentals - a degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or similar experience
Experience collaborating with product and design teams

What the job involves

We're seeking a software engineer to support existing implementations with provider clients after they are launched onto the Cedar platform
Engineers on the team will work with their peers in engineering to improve and remediate our client integrations while optimizing future implementations
Work autonomously and creatively in navigating and overcoming obstacles that you encounter
Contribute to multi-functional team efforts across Cedar and our clients to maintain the health of the Cedar platform
Develop and support software to integrate with client's electronic health record (EHR) data
Weekend On-Call Support (~Quarterly)

Over $1B is said to be lost annually by physicians as a result of inefficient and disjointed healthcare billing practices. The subsequently low patient satisfaction rates lead to poorer care, and real losses for providers who see patients switching away from their plans.

Cedar looks to remedy these issues with a selection of consumer-facing services which streamline billing, insurance and healthcare processes. Healthcare billing concerns a huge percentage of US adults, so optimizing patient satisfaction is of increasing concern - a great opportunity for the company.

After acquiring competing patient finance streamlining service OODA Health in 2021, Cedar netted substantial funds and launched its Payer Intelligence Layer. This has allowed it to integrate data from insurers and providers to create a single source of information. The company was also endorsed by the Montana Hospital Association's shared services division, to be listed as its only preferred patient financial engagement technology.
