Our take
Strategy consulting is the most prestigious corner of a professional services industry worth hundreds of billions, yet how the advice actually gets made has barely changed in decades. The global strategy segment alone is worth roughly $55 billion and growing steadily, but clients increasingly grumble that expensive strategies look impressive on paper and then fail to stick.
Launched in 2023, Firehills is a UK firm betting it can change that by pairing systems thinking with AI. Rather than reaching for off-the-shelf frameworks, it models organisations as interconnected systems to surface the less obvious routes to growth. Its founders bring over fifty years of combined experience advising FTSE-100 companies, government and private equity, and the firm is building its own technology to turn analysis around in weeks rather than months.
Its ambition stretches beyond commercial returns toward social impact, helping government create lasting public value. As a lean newcomer, Firehills has to prove that approach against deeply entrenched global firms and convert early case studies into a durable track record. Do that, and it has a real chance to carve out a genuinely distinctive niche.
