Role
Who you are
- 2+ years in banking, consulting, private equity, or venture capital, and 3–8+ years in a high-growth startup owning forecasts, systems, and core finance operations
- Proven ability to build and operate financial models that drive decisions, not just reports
- Comfort diving deep into systems and automating financial operations and workflows
- Clear, concise communication — you make complex numbers simple and actionable
- A bias for ownership, iteration, and teamwork — you’d rather get it right than make it look fancy
What the job involves
- You’ll join Miter’s leadership team to build Miter’s financial foundation — from forecasting and systems to board reporting and fundraising readiness. This is a hands-on role with a long runway: as the company grows, this role will have the opportunity to hire a team and grow into an executive leader at Miter
- Own Miter’s financial model end-to-end — forecast revenue, headcount, and burn with clarity and speed
- Partner with GTM, Ops, G&A, and Product to translate plans into budgets, goals, headcount planning, and measurable outcomes
- Lead monthly reporting and board prep: track KPIs, cash, and ARR with rigor
- Build scalable systems across accounting, billing, and reporting — from QuickBooks to the next layer
- Support future fundraising and strategic finance efforts as Miter continues to grow

Miter is addressing the productivity issue in the construction industry. With construction expenses on the rise and many building companies still using HR and financial software originally developed in the 90s, Miter leverages breakthroughs in fintech infrastructure to create new HR, compliance, and financial software for construction companies.
It's all-in-one offering provides construction companies with payroll, labor compliance, and spend management tools that will help to save time and therefore bid on more public sector projects. Ultimately, most contractors outsource this type of work, so Miter saves money on employment too.
Founded in 2021, Miter has developed a sturdy and flexible platform which has a lot of promise. And now with some impressive funding, the company is ready to scale further to meet the needs of international clients.
