- BS/MS in Computer Science, or related fields
- Proven hands-on experience in distributed systems
- Solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
- Strong coding skills and hands on experience in Python and SQL
- You’re a self-driven learner who want to understand the internals of a system
- You can work independently as well as part of a team
- You take ownership of projects and drive them to conclusion
- You’re a good communicator and are capable of not just doing the work, but teaching others and explaining the “why” behind complicated technical decisions
- You can present your proposals, architecture and ideas across teams
- A passion for platform engineering and building tools that empower developers

- Strong coding skills and an eye for writing efficient, maintainable, and scalable solutions

Desirable
- Experience operating and managing data platform technologies like MySQL, MongoDB, Trino, Hive, Kafka, ElasticSearch, Ranger, and Redis. Working experience of SingleStore (memsql) DB is a huge plus
- Experience with the Hadoop framework is a big plus!
- Experience managing and automating Kubernetes clusters and workloads
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Experience with test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous deployment processes
- Experience with infrastructure as code frameworks and tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, Helm, and/or AWS CDK
- Experience with SQL performance tuning. NoSQL performance tuning is a plus
- Experience with Linux systems administration, package management, and operations
What the job involves
- As a Software Engineer on the Data Infrastructure team, you’ll build and enhance the platforms and tooling that empower developers across 6sense
- Our team enables critical engineering, product, and analytics functions by providing a scalable, reliable, and efficient data platform
- We manage and optimize systems such as our data warehouse, batch compute infrastructure, data orchestration, data lake, and key integrations
- Your work will focus on automating and streamlining our data platform, improving developer experience, and ensuring our systems are both performant and scalable
- Contribute to the establishment of a scalable and performant data platform at 6sense. Ensure that the platform seamlessly integrates with existing technologies
- Tackle obscure scalability and performance challenges by providing solutions that help us meet our growing demands
- Create reusable and maintainable components that reduce the cognitive load on developers who interact with our data platform
- Write secure, well-documented automations, APIs, and tooling that help our stakeholders interact with our data platform

While sales and marketing teams need access to customer data to stay competitive, this information is often scattered around multiple difficult-to-access systems both inside and outside the company. 6sense exists to solve this problem, using AI to bring together disparate data sources such as internal CRMs and social media signals to give sales teams all the information they need in one place.
While other companies have attempted to tackle this problem, 6sense stands out with its ability to provide a complete picture of a company and the leads to pursue within it. This allows teams to accurately prioritise accounts that are most likely to buy, greatly increasing conversion rates and sales figures. This has led to it being taken up by major enterprises including Dell Technologies, Shell and Cisco, to name a few.
6sense has raised a large amount of capital over multiple funding rounds and now has a $5.2 billion valuation. The company remains focused on research and development to maintain its market lead and is working to improve its AI's predictive, insight, and orchestration capabilities. At the end of 2023, it launched a LinkedIn integration that allowed 6Sense customers to launch targeted LinkedIn marketing campaigns through its AI platform.
