Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in Law or equivalent legal background (law studies, JD track, or equivalent legal education)
- 1-2 years of professional experience, including internships (recent graduates with hands-on corporate legal internship experience welcome; law firm research experience is less relevant)
- Fluent English (written and verbal) — this is our primary business language
- Organized and structured mindset — you thrive on systems, checklists, and methodical workflows. Not creative; rigorous and detail-oriented
- Excellent time management and organizational skills — you can juggle multiple deadlines without dropping a ball
- Corporate legal internship experience is a plus (hands-on contract review and drafting, not legal research)

You will have direct input to our mission to democratize data-driven medicine for the ultimate benefit of cancer and rare disease patients across the globe
- In this role you will play a critical role in supporting our compliance operations by managing administrative and regulatory activities that ensure SOPHiA GENETICS operates with integrity and compliance across all markets where we operate
- This is an opportunity suited to someone organized, structured, and meticulous—someone who finds purpose in building the operational foundation that allows a strategic compliance team to focus on higher-order regulatory challenges like AI Act compliance and information security certifications
- This is a 6-month temporary contract with strong potential to convert to a permanent role based on performance
- Support the management and implementation of SOPHiA GENETICS' Compliance programs to ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations in every country where our products and services are marketed
- Own healthcare compliance operations, including drafting and reviewing healthcare professional engagement contracts, managing declarations to healthcare authorities, and ensuring adherence to international regulations, local laws, and company compliance standards
- Manage enterprise insurance operations, including policy administration, claims processing, renewals, and insurer coordination—freeing your leadership team to focus on strategic risk management initiatives
- Execute contract administration and review across multiple compliance areas: healthcare compliance agreements, data protection clauses, information security appendices, and general terms—learning the company's compliance framework and negotiation playbook on the job
- Support risk management infrastructure, including maintenance of the internal control framework, implementation of mitigation measures, and preparation of periodic reporting to relevant committees
- Contribute to compliance communications, including assistance with policy writing, training materials, and guidance documentation to help SOPHiA GENETICS staff understand legal requirements
- Stay current on developments in risk management and compliance to keep the organization ahead of regulatory changes

Our take
Though health and genetic data are increasingly available in large quantities to healthcare providers, it can be very difficult to gain insights from them. Data processing is a significant bottleneck, and important information which could be vital to a patient's health can easily be overlooked or misinterpreted. SOPHiA GENETICS has developed a SaaS platform which seeks to change this by processing raw data received from partner institutions. It then returns a standardised report which can be actioned by the end user. The platform learns from this process, becoming more capable the more data it receives.
The global healthcare AI market is thriving, with numerous large competitors in the sector such as Welltok, iCarbonX and IBM (Watson Health). However, SOPHiA's USP is its democratization of health data. It has continually worked closely with a variety of healthcare providers, each using different instruments and providing non-standardized data. While this was initially a hurdle, once overcome, it has become a strength, allowing the platform to engage with the equipment a healthcare provider has rather than requiring a particular inventory.
SOPHiA went public in 2021 and, since then, has pursued collaborations with institutions and companies that focus on cancer screening and diagnostics. In 2025, the company launched advanced MRD tracking capabilities, further innovating in the oncology space. With these cutting-edge tools, SOPHiA strengthens its leadership in data-driven medicine, paving the way for more personalized healthcare.
