Role
Who you are
- 1+ yrs experience in an outbound-focused Enterprise Business Development role in SaaS, FinTech or Payroll industry preferred, or similar Customer Facing/Sales role considered ,
- Degree qualified in Business, Technology or relevant industry experience,
- Strong Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on phone and video calls, Linkedin conversation and email outreach,
- Proficient in CRM Tools: Experience using HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, and other CRM/outreach tools to manage lead lists and create personalized sequences,
- Research & Analytical Skills: Ability to research target companies, industries, and competitors, and use this information to craft personalized outreach strategies,
- Self-Starter: Driven, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced. Ability to ask lots of great questions and willing to be outside your comfort zone is a strong plus
- Payroll, HCM or global workforce systems (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle) industry knowledge and experience considered a plus but not required
What the job involves
- As a Business Development Representative, you will source new business opportunities, analyse client prospects specific needs, research and report on competitor offerings and market trends
- You will help to educate prospects about our digital platform and services, answer any initial queries they may have, and book qualified meetings so our sales executives can take the sales process further
- Your goal will be to apply pipeline generation skills to identify and prospect new customers and business for Payslip
- Account Research & Targeting: Conduct detailed research on target accounts, identifying key decision-makers and understanding their pain points around global payroll management,
- Outbound Prospecting: Execute highly personalized and strategic outreach using email, phone, LinkedIn, and other channels to engage with key personas (reaching out to HR, Finance, Payroll Executives, and Global Operations Leaders)
- Pipeline Generation: Create, manage, and qualify leads in our CRM (HubSpot), working towards booking discovery meetings between enterprise companies and Payslip’s Account Executive team,
- Collaboration with Sales & Marketing: Work closely with the Account Executive and Marketing teams to align outbound efforts with marketing campaigns, events, and industry trends,
- Event planning & outreach: Leverage and attend industry events, conferences, webinars, and other marketing-driven opportunities to connect with prospects,
- CRM tracking & reporting: Track your outreach efforts, pipeline growth, and activity within Hubspot and other tools
Our take
The search for top talent doesn't stop at national borders, and as remote working has become the norm in many industries the barriers to hiring internationally have fallen. Unfortunately, this is not the case with payroll, which has to be managed on a country-by-country basis so that it is handled in a way which is compliant with each country's laws. This can quickly become a major headache for any company, especially in high-growth industries like tech.
Payslip was founded to assist companies with a geographically distributed workforce overcome these difficulties. Integrating a company's global payroll system with its in-country payroll providers, it provides end-to-end visibility of an enterprise's payroll operations, automates a large amount of manual processes and reduces error rates. This simplifies payroll and makes scaling easier, as international hires become no more difficult to manage than local ones. These advantages have grown Payslip a significant client base including the likes of Airbus, Gartner and Olympus.
Payslip has raised a large amount of investor capital in several funding rounds, which has allowed it to power through the global uncertainty affecting many other fintech companies across 2022. It is focusing on further product development, adding features such as the ability to pay freelancers and contractors from central payroll. With an effective solution to a pressing business need, Payslip is well positioned for future growth.
