Role
Who you are
- 2–3 years of professional accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS)
- Proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets formulas (e.g., XLOOKUP)
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
What the job involves
- The Senior Accountant will help safeguard Kooth’s financial health by ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant accounting practices. Partnering closely with the finance team, this role will oversee daily transaction recording, perform account reconciliations, and support a range of accounting and reporting activities
- Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and bank entries
- Financial Analysis: Assist in preparing financial statements, reports, and analysis to support decision making processes
- Expense Management: Review and Process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance
- With company policies
- Accounts Payable: Process invoices, verify expenses, prepare payments, and manage vendor relationships
- Assist Controller with preparation of US Budget files by department, using budgeted data to analyze department spending throughout the year
- Financial Audits: Support the Controller and other finance team members during our annual audit, providing necessary documentation and support. Collaborate with the audit team directly when required
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency
- Assist Controller with the preparation and submission of tax filings to ensure compliance with tax regulations
- Assist with various ad hoc projects as directed by the Financial Controller

Kooth offers free at the point of access mental health care to more than 5.4 million people via NHS commissioners, corporates, social workers, GPs and schools across the UK. It provides a mix of community-created content, forum sessions with other community members, and one-to-one counselling via online chat. All users sign up anonymously for the free-of-charge service and there's no digital tracking of session IP addresses. The aim is to provide a safe space where each person can get the support they need.
As a pioneer in online counselling, Kooth brings together emerging technologies with innovation in clinical practice and evaluation to create new models of care in mental health.
Kooth’s 2020 IPO came at a time when London listings were sparse. A testament to the important contribution its services can make at a time when businesses are becoming more conscious of the need to foster well-being in their employees and in the wider world. This is further exemplified by the 33% soar in share prices after a contract was announced to serve 13 to 25-year-olds in California.
