Role

Who you are

Educated & Ready to Build: You have a 4-year Computer Science degree and a solid foundational understanding of full-stack web development, including modern JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and server-side/web technologies
AI-Forward, but Grounded: You know how to accelerate your work with AI tools, but you possess the engineering rigor to validate AI outputs, catch algorithmic mistakes, and maintain clean code

What the job involves

We are looking for Junior Full-Stack Developers to join our Documentation team in Chicago. Built on the pillars of experience and experimentation, this team is designed to give you ownership over the Adyen developer experience
You will maintain a strict focus on the human element of documentation - implementing front-end UI updates, tackling technical debt, and experimenting with new workflows to directly free up the wider team for other strategic initiatives
Enhance the Developer Experience: Give the Adyen Docs site a fresh coat of paint, align it with corporate branding, and build interactive, developer-focused elements
Tackle Technical Debt: Streamline our docs-as-code workflows and assist with Grav CMS integrations, clearing overhead so the wider team can move faster
Experiment with Data & AI: You will find new, interesting ways to proactively enhance the user and agent experience. You will also experiment with AI workflows to improve documentation speed
Formula Fit Execution: Champion the Adyen Formula by launching fast and iterating based on real-world feedback

Our take

Adyen has been one of the most successful businesses in Europe over the last decade. When it went public in 2018 at a valuation of €7 billion, it raised over €1 billion and its share price popped on the first day, resulting in a valuation of €14 billion. And its valuation has continued to climb in the years since.

Adyen competes with large players like PayPal, as well as outsized startups like Stripe, to power payments and provide other infrastructure to conduct digital transactions. Disrupters in the field have been buoyed by a strong rise in eCommerce activity, where some or all of a transaction by a customer is made either online or by mobile.

Adyen has been one of the companies riding the wave by helping interested businesses to choose and then implement online payments - without the usual hoops to step through. Notable partners have included Autocanteen, a touchless self-checkout solution for the hospitality industry, and BILL, a small business-focused fintech platform.
