Who you are
- To excel as a member of the Product Development team, you should combine a passion for technology with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong problem-solving skills
- You are a team player with excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic
- 3+ years' experience leading teams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in backend development with:
- TypeScript or any strongly typed language
- SQL databases
- Nest.js or similar web/dependency management frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, ASP.NET Core)
- Svelte or similar front-end development tools
- Experience with private markets, fintech, highly regulated industries, or document processing is a plus
- Strong understanding of system design principles, scalability, and performance tuning

What the job involves
- To expand our core team, we are hiring an Engineering Manager who wants to play a pivotal role in growing our product development team and transforming the private markets industry
- Your primary responsibilities will be ensuring our engineering output delivers tangible value, as well as technical and architectural direction and team resources. You will be involved in shaping the future of the tech team as we grow to the next stage. We are focusing on Product Excellence and building sustainable tech processes
- You will be at the core of building the technology that powers bunch. We aim to build something meaningful with a real-world impact
- You will lead a team and have full accountability for delivering solutions that truly solve customer problems
- Collaborate with Product Management: Actively participate in problem discovery and solution creation by leveraging your technical expertise
- Own capacity management: Taking a proactive role in the planning and truly owning the output of your team
- Drive collaboration across teams: Work closely with other cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth delivery of new features and improvements
- Manage our architecture and tech debt: Ensure we are set up for growth in both team-specific and cross-cutting areas
- Team growth: Make sure our engineers understand the core problems we are working on and that their day-to-day work contributes to their growth plan

- Hiring Manager Interview (60 min): this conversation will cover product-focused culture and values, including collaboration, ownership, self-awareness, and quality standards
- Technical Interview (60 min): this interview in the form of a technical conversation with two engineers will focus on collaborative problem-solving, starting with open-ended questions and progressing to more specific challenges or short algorithm tasks
- Leadership Case Interview (60 min): this interview with Product and Design focuses on leadership style, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering strategic impact in a scaling environment
- Final Round: Meet our VP of Engineering and VP of Product (60 min) to learn about ways of working, vision for bunch, and team culture
- Meet-and-Greet (Optional - 30 min) to meet a few members of your future cross-functional team
Our take
Berlin-based Bunch is an operating system (OS) for investors to syndicate deals across private markets. Both founders’ previous experiences in fintech made them uniquely aware of the barriers preventing access to private markets and how to knock them down.
The private market investment has boomed in recent years, with around $10 trillion in assets under management. Considering the growing state of the market coupled with the company's current work to refine its platform, Bunch can expect to see greater demand and further uptake of its services. Bunch is attractive to customers due to how easy it makes participation in private markets.
Since its founding in 2021, Bunch has attracted over 500 investors to its platform and now administers around €150 million in assets. Following 2024 funding, the company is focused on growing its userbase and product capabilities.
