Who you are
- Senior, polished operator — this role sits in front of investment partners and deal teams
- Direct negotiation experience with venture capital or private equity counterparts (terms, exclusivity, program structure) — not just relationship management
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder deal cycles and move disparate parties toward consensus over long horizons
- 3 + years Experience working in private equity or with PE-backed portfolio companies
- Experience working in partnerships within the SaaS industry
- Quota-carrying experience with a track record of overperformance versus peers, not just attainment
- Demonstrated success hunting for and activating new partnerships that produced material pipeline — sourced, not inherited
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to scale strategic initiatives
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments (Series B/C/D preferred)
- Comfort navigating long-horizon relationship cycles alongside near-term pipeline urgency
- Self-awareness about personal strengths and gaps, and the judgment to prioritize and sequence competing demands without being told to
- Comfortable traveling domestically 1x per month for partner meetings and industry events
What the job involves
- As private equity firms scale their portfolios, they need compliance solutions deployed consistently across every company they own — and technology partners who understand how PE firms operate and add value
- That's where you come in
- Anrok is launching and scaling a net new PE and VC channel, and PE/VC firms and their broader technology partner ecosystem are a critical growth lever
- Backed by over $50M from Sequoia Capital, Index, and Khosla Ventures, we need someone to source, build, and scale strategic partnerships — both directly with private equity and venture capital firms and with technology partner organizations that have a dedicated PE/VC arm — driving portfolio-wide adoption of Anrok
- Source, recruit, and sign new partnerships with PE firms and technology partners that have a dedicated PE arm, aligned to Anrok's growth strategy
- You will be building this partner book from the ground up and will need a strong hunting, sourcing and pipeline management skillset in order to balance net new partner acquisition, program development and generating tangible opportunities for the sales team
- Develop and execute joint go-to-market strategies with those partners that generate measurable referral and co-sell revenue across portfolio companies, and own quarterly partnership-sourced SQO targets
- Deepen existing partner relationships — building principal-level relationships with PE firm leadership and portfolio operations teams to unlock preferred vendor status, portfolio-wide rollouts, and other strategic initiatives
- Enable partner teams to identify, position, and refer Anrok, working with partner marketing to build co-marketing materials, referral playbooks, and PE-facing positioning
- Represent Anrok at PE/VC industry events and conferences to build pipeline and engage industry leaders
- Work cross-functionally with product, marketing, and sales leadership to shape PE partnership strategy, and track performance to continuously optimize the channel
Our take
Software is becoming an increasingly taxable enterprise, in increasingly nuanced and jurisdiction-specific ways thanks to new rulings in the late 2010s. SaaS companies need to keep track of both their physical and economic nexuses, leaving many companies scrambling to stay compliant. Anrok has developed a simple API-based solution to help companies get there.
Anrok's no-code, out-of-the-box tool helps businesses easily calculate sales tax monitoring, calculation, and remittance wherever their product is used, and easily identify new exposures. It’s a simple solution to a complex problem, and the result for Anrok has been impressive funding and strong growth in the short few years it’s been in operation.
This will in part be thanks to the company’s astute pricing model: much like SaaS businesses themselves, it’s based on demand. This makes it scalable enough to encompass both smaller and enterprise SaaS clients. This, in turn, means Anrok’s addressable market within the SaaS sector is substantial. And that’s a sector that in itself is continuing to see remarkable growth. All this makes it a promising, and as of yet fairly unchallenged, position that Anrok is carving out.
