Who you are
- The ideal candidate is highly analytical and strategic, approaches problems in a structured manner, is comfortable with ambiguity, and can communicate clearly and effectively
- 4+ years of relevant progressive Finance experience in a fast-paced and high growth environment, including Strategic Finance, FP&A, investment banking, or consulting
- Superior analytical and problem solving skills with experience building 3-statement financial models
- Understanding of systems or willingness to be a power user in our financial planning systems (Adaptive Planning, Oracle).
- Ability to manage and manipulate large data sets, critically analyze existing processes, and identify opportunities for process improvement
- An ability to distill complex issues into structured frameworks and concrete action plans
- Highly detailed individual with a sense of urgency and strong prioritization skills
- Excellent presentation and writing skills and the ability to clearly communicate messages that link business issues, financial results, and strategy at the executive level
- An A-player mindset with a strong bias for action: you raise the bar, move with urgency, stay resilient through ambiguity, and take ownership to deliver meaningful outcomes

- The Financial Planning & Strategy (FP&S) team at Checkr sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, and execution

- As a Senior Corporate Financial Planning & Strategy Analyst, you will play a critical role on the Financial Planning & Strategy (FP&S) team
- The FP&S team is responsible for the financial decision-making across the organization. This role supports the corporate function in all activities related to managing the total company corporate model. The role supports a wide range of business processes and initiatives to maximize value and optimize company performance, including projects related to revenue, resource allocation, company-wide budgeting, long-term planning, scaling our systems, and setting performance benchmarks for the company
- This is a highly visible role which will work closely with Finance Leadership and cross-functional business partners
- Prepare reporting and analyses for management and the BOD, including annual and quarterly financial reviews, BOD materials, investor reporting, and weekly and monthly business reviews
- Support initiatives to continuously improve, automate, and scale forecasting and reporting tools, processes, and methodologies. Become a power user in our financial planning tool (Adaptive) and find opportunities to continuously improve and automate our processes
- Serve as a key liaison and partner to Finance, Accounting, IT, Corporate Development, People/HR, and other parts of the organization
- Integrate AI into existing financial processes to uncover deeper business insights, optimize forecast accuracy, proactively identify emerging trends, and drive automations
- Serve as the go-to financial partner for data-driven, ad-hoc analyses, and prepare strategic materials for key management meetings, summarizing findings, risks, opportunities, and recommendations
- Support M&A analysis including financial modeling and due diligence
- Own the Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasting, and partner with Finance on optimizing working capital
- Lead strategic financial planning and forecasting processes across different departments. This includes managing the process and calendar for quarterly, AOP and Long-Range Planning

Checkr addresses the unpleasant and time consuming process of background checks so that companies using on-demand employees can make safer, more informed hiring decisions in less time. Background checks are a critical part of the hiring process, and CEO Daniel Yannisse noticed that they were painfully slow, resulting in loss of work for candidates and productivity downturns for employers.
Before Checkr entered the market in 2014 with its innovative AI technology and a solid $50m in venture capital funding, companies were waiting upwards of two weeks for their checks. Checkr substantially reduces this time frame and has grown to receive a $5 billion valuation.
Checkr has accelerated growth by making several highly advantageous acquisitions of competitor companies, GoodHire and Inflection. As the world of work embraces diversity and inclusion, the company announced an end-to-end service for candidates wishing to expunge their criminal records, furthering the company’s ‘fair chance’ mission and clearing 1000s of candidates for free since 2021. New products launched at the end of 2023 include Checkr Pay (providing access to payment right after a shift) and Checkr Onboard (unified onboarding processes), exemplifying how Checkr is keeping pace with a rapidly changing, flexible, and mobile-first workforce.
