Role
Who you are
- The Operations Associate role sits within the CEO Team at Zero Gravity, offering unparalleled exposure to the inner workings of a high growth tech start-up. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth running of the business by driving internal operations, managing day-to-day execution, and supporting strategic initiatives that strengthen our people, culture, and systems.
- The CEO Team works across a range of activities to successfully execute Zero Gravity’s business plan, with the primary objective of building a high performance organisation. By building and maintaining high-performance people, culture & systems, Zero Gravity is able to achieve its outcomes and maximise social impact.
Desirable
- Strong people skills - you’ll have the ability to foster relationships both internally and externally to facilitate team collaboration and effective stakeholder management.
- Excellent written communication - you’ll be confident in writing internal and external documents such as grant applications, policies and investor communications. You’ll have the ability to both tell the Zero Gravity story and translate all of the necessary business information.
- Super organised - strong organisational and project management skills are key, as this role will involve a lot of plate spinning, prioritisation and adaptation.
- A generalist - you’ll have a strong interest in pursuing a career as a generalist, or with a strong interest in the management of a business or startup in the future. You don’t need to have any prior experience in these areas, but strong interest is a must.
- A go-get attitude - you’ll be driven and enthusiastic about learning directly from the CEO Team in a fast-paced startup environment. You’ll be a quick learner who is willing to give things a go, fail-fast and execute at speed.
What the job involves
- Support with building and reviewing Zero Gravity’s systems and processes to maintain and grow our award-winning culture, as well as executing on the implementation of those processes.
- Oversee day-to-day office operations, including supplies, facilities, and general administrative needs.
- Manage the end-to-end onboarding and offboarding process for new hires.
- Maintain the company asset register, develop a tech replacement process, and oversee hardware/software needs.
- Own company-wide management of SaaS and the internal tech stack, driving initiatives to streamline costs and optimise team efficiency.
- Implement and refine the fundraising lead generation strategy and execution to continuously source new potential investment.
- Support the CEO Team with stakeholder management, including existing investor relations and reporting.
- Actively manage and execute grant funding application processes and writing to secure funding to support Zero Gravity’s mission. This will include everything from sourcing the grants to collating the relevant business information and writing the applications.
- Own Zero Gravity’s social impact measurement strategy, including the coordination and processing of externally validated UCAS data. This involves the building an annual social impact report and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on key initiatives.
- Research and maintain a pipeline of relevant industry and business awards. Coordinate submissions, gather supporting documentation, and track deadlines.
- Support with company legals, insurance, compliance and financial management processes.
- Support and co-ordinate HR processes such as performance management and recruitment.
- Note: This is the ultimate generalist role - no two days will look the same. As the business evolves, so will the responsibilities. We're looking for a true Swiss Army knife: someone adaptable, curious, and ready to jump into whatever challenge comes next
