Who you are
- Bachelor's degree or comparable formal training, certification and/or work experience
- 1–3 years of experience in sales, business development, or a customer-facing role preferred
- Ability to work a Monday–Friday schedule and remain on your feet for extended periods
- Knowledge of market research, sales and negotiating principles
- Time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines with Google Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate via phone and email (both internally and externally) and experience creating and facilitating presentations. The ability to speak Spanish is a plus
- Ability to build lasting relationships

What the job involves
- We are looking for a Community Growth Specialist with a passion for brand advocacy and community engagement to join our team
- As a Community Growth Specialist at Favor, you are the face of the brand. Your primary responsibility will be to drive brand awareness and generate new customers through community partnerships and local events
- You will engage directly with potential customers in the community, educating them on the value of Favor's on-demand delivery services
- This role requires a dynamic individual who can pivot seamlessly between selling, meet & greets, and brand representation
- You will partner with the Sales & Marketing leadership teams to execute localized strategies that grow our customer base and solidify Favor's presence in the Austin market
- Meet and exceed quarterly and yearly predetermined goals and quotas, such as signed PTA partnerships, new customer activations, and promo code redemption rates
- Execute energetic community marketing activations, pop-up events, and targeted customer acquisition campaigns with local institutions, including schools, PTAs, and hospitals
- Help design and run creative, repeatable programs that successfully turn event attendees into first-time Favor users
- Maintain a standard Monday–Friday schedule, with the regular flexibility to work weekends to support community events
- Act as the enthusiastic face of the brand, proactively approaching potential customers to explain Favor's features, benefits, and everyday value
- Distribute marketing collateral and promotional codes to drive first-time app downloads and orders
- Research, scout, and recommend upcoming local festivals, community events, and high-foot-traffic areas for future growth opportunities
- Manage on-the-ground event logistics, including the setup, breakdown, and inventory management of all event kit and marketing materials
- Collaborate directly with the Marketing and Operations teams to capture social media content during live events and share market feedback
Our take
More and more people are looking to get things delivered fast, and businesses are trying to find inventive ways to meet the demand and get people’s purchases to them as quickly as possible. Favor solves this problem, with an on-demand delivery service that depends on “runners” to get products to customers quickly.
Customers can browse on the Favor app and select items from their list or input items from other stores in the delivery zone, and Favor runners will collect the item and deliver it within an hour. While many on-demand delivery services struggle to scale, Favor itself has managed to expand its operations across Texas and into Philadelphia.
A handful of the company's early rivals have since gone out of business, but the company is challenged by deep-pocketed businesses like DoorDash and Uber Eats. That said, its progress so far has been good, and Favor continues to innovate - for example with its B2B “Shop & Deliver” platform.
