Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience sourcing and hiring high-caliber technical talent across various disciplines, such as software engineering, infrastructure, and cybersecurity
- 8+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience. Subject-matter expertise in Software Engineering, Mobile (iOS), Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity
- Our ideal candidate has experience and thrives in scaling startups or high-growth companies with evolving processes
- Proven ability to effectively partner with, guide, and coach hiring managers, interviewers, and other key stakeholders. Experience working closely with senior leadership and People Partners
- Expert-level sourcing capabilities using creative, multi-platform strategies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with senior stakeholders
- Deep understanding of structured interview processes, competency-based evaluations, and recruitment process optimization. Proven experience successfully driving and implementing these practices
- Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the recruiting process
- Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment metrics to assess and improve recruitment processes
- Based near the Ro HQ NYC office, with a willingness to come into the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays
What the job involves
- We are seeking a Senior / Principal Technical Recruiter to join our dynamic Talent team
- This role is pivotal for managing senior-level searches, engaging with VP+ and C-suite stakeholders, and building effective partnerships across the Tech and People organizations
- You will play a critical role in shaping our team by identifying and engaging talent that contributes to the diversity and success of our teams at Ro and by facilitating a seamless hiring process
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for technical roles, from job requisition to offer acceptance. Lead and implement innovative recruitment strategies and develop targeted outreach plans to identify and attract exceptional technical talent
- Utilize advanced sourcing techniques, including Boolean search, AI-driven approaches, and niche job platforms, to proactively build talent pipelines
- Champion and embed diversity-focused sourcing strategies to attract and engage a diverse candidate pool, ensuring inclusive hiring practices that align with our commitment to building a diverse workforce
- Engage and build relationships with stakeholders across the Tech org, including VP+ and C-suite leadership. Adopt a consultative approach and provide expert guidance to hiring managers and other key stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the People and Talent teams. Provide mentorship and coaching to junior team members as needed, while thriving in an individual contributor (IC) role
- Design and own structured, competency-based interview practices and refine processes to optimize candidate experience and recruiting impact. Take initiative to continuously improve and innovate recruiting practices
- Analyze recruiting metrics, including pipeline and sourcing conversion rates, to identify roadblocks and develop strategic solutions. Use these insights to engage stakeholders and drive improvements in the hiring process
- Show enthusiasm for embedding yourself within the Tech org through activities like attending tech on-sites, engaging in technical discussions, and building authentic relationships

The founders of Ro established the company because they felt that health insurance wasn’t working as it should, as the pooled cost of expensive treatments means that the price of individual doctor visits is inflated.
Ro’s primary care platform powers a personalized, end-to-end healthcare experience from diagnosis, to delivery of medication, to ongoing care. Instead of having to travel to a doctor’s office, Ro customers can access a video conference with a physician on-demand, from the comfort of their own home.
In order to tap into the global medical market, which is worth over $4 trillion, Ro raised $150 million at a valuation of $7 billion in 2022. It has expanded to more health areas, such as skincare and mental health, and launched an online pharmacy. Despite this, a substantial number of layoffs in spring 2022 indicated that Ro's accelerated growth had caused problems with its internal organization. Having now narrowed its focus and spending more on less, Ro has streamlined its operations and looks to continue on a steady upward trajectory.
