Who you are
- You’re an experienced cloud engineer who thrives on building infrastructure that just works - scalable, secure, and self-healing
- When you're solving problems, you're just as comfortable writing code as you are digging into cloud architecture. You communicate clearly, enjoy mentoring others, and bring both curiosity and calm to complex challenges
- Deep experience designing, deploying, and operating AWS infrastructure and managed services (like RDS, EKS, Lambda) at scale
- Strong expertise with Terraform and infrastructure automation
- A strong foundation with coding skills either with application development, or building automation and tooling
- Proficiency in container orchestration and cluster management
- Experience with CI/CD systems such as Buildkite, GitHub Actions, etc
- Familiarity with observability platforms (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
- Familiarity with Linux systems administration, networking, and observability tooling
- Demonstrate a keen interest in improving your craft by using AI
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities, with a focus on knowledge sharing and team collaboration
- Growth mindset when it comes to process improvement and new technologies, especially AI
Desirable
- Experience with Kubernetes (EKS) on AWS in production environments
- Expertise with best practices for managing and securing Cloud environments at scale
- Prior experience in platform engineering or developer productivity teams
- Prior experience working with software teams building and shipping applications to the Cloud
What the job involves
- You’ll be part of a globally distributed team, collaborating closely with engineers in North America and Europe, driving technical excellence across Clio’s production environments
- Design, build, and maintain the AWS infrastructure supporting Clio’s production environments
- Implement and evolve Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, ensuring reproducibility and compliance
- Collaborate with developers to improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and overall developer experience
- Enhance observability and reliability, refining alerting, monitoring, and incident response
- Lead cloud optimization projects, improving performance, cost efficiency, and security posture
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
- Partner with Security, MLOps, and Product Engineering teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and compliant systems

Modern law firms increasingly manage their work digitally but the lack of a specialized remote solution means that workflows have become fragmented. This leads to legal practice managers having to juggle multiple software solutions across various devices.
Clio provides a legal practice management platform designed for law firms, allowing users to manage billing for legal aid cases, access and manage documents and store files across multiple devices. Whilst other startups are operating in this niche, Clio has uniquely focussed on synchronisation across remote devices and on a wide range of integrations, allowing the user to access information from other industry standard software such as Xero and Klyant from within a single interface.
Clio has raised significant funding and benefited from the COVID-era shift toward cloud technologies. More recently, the company has experienced rapid growth following the integration of AI into its platform in 2023. Alongside this, it surpassed $200M in annual recurring revenue (ARR) in mid-2024 and has since grown to an impressive $500M ARR. The company was valued at $5B following a $500M funding round in 2025, with the investment supporting further AI development and platform expansion.
